The Homecoming Project is our love letter to all migrant’s currently seeking asylum from their home countries.
We hope to bring awareness to the innocence of immigrant children and to inspire readers to reflect on their own immigrant histories. All immigrants are innocent of our search for home and our yearn for a united family.
About the Author
Margarita Quiñones Peña
Born in Durango, raised in Chicago. Margarita grew up in La Villita on the SW side of Chicago. A product of Chicago Public Schools, she graduated an Engineer from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Almost 30 years since her own migration journey, Margarita is an experienced Yoga instructor, a social justice activist, and an immigrant rights advocate working to share her story in a way that provides for those who are next up.
